Touze Health Institute provides quality HHA classes to those in the community interested in becoming a nursing assistant or home health aide.

What is an Home Health Aides (HHA)?

Home Health Aides are personnel responsible to provide personal care to a variety of people in various circumstances.. HHAs can help elderly adults with daily tasks such as bathing, getting dressed, preparing meals, eating, and hygiene needs. HHAs are usually required to get a certification (this differs by state) after taking the necessary classes at a vocational school or college. HHAs can be very helpful to elderly adults, persons with intellectual disabilities, or chronic long-term illness around the house and can provide companionship. Due to limited training, HHAs are not nurses; however, the are a very important member of the healthcare team as they provide personal care, as well as assist aging parent with activities such as shopping & transportation, meal preparation, light cleaning & laundry assistance, companionship, and other tasks of daily living.

What is the Home Health Aides (HHA) Program Like?

Our 75 hour course typically ranges from 2-3 weeks and prepare graduates to join the health care job market. Having a Home Health Aide certificate equips you to work for any number of medical institutions, including hospitals, long-term care facilities, nursing homes and group homes. We proud to offer a professional high quality training program which offer students small class sizes in a related and fun environment.

Upon completion of this program you may opt to take the Certified Nursing Assistant State Board Exam to increase job opportunities. Upon successfully passing of this exam, student will be Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). (Note: It is recommended student complete a CNA Exam Prep class to prepare for the state exam.

Are there any Prerequisites?

There are virtually no barriers to entry. While prerequisites vary from state to state, the typical requirements include a GED or high school diploma, criminal background check, and completion of a TB test. From there, we can get you enrolled quickly and get you on your way to a new career. We strive to create a fun environment for our students and always pack classes with plenty of real-world experiences.

What are the Job Prospects?

Once you have completed your course, you can work with our wonderful advisors to locate a job. You can work in a variety of settings so there are plenty of options available to you. The skills of a professional caregiver are always in demand.

How do I know I would be successful in this program/ career?

While mastering the information and skills of a home health aide/nursing assistant are important, what sets caregivers apart is their attitude. If you are a naturally caring and empathic person, you will have a big head start. Of course, you still need to be diligent, organized, and responsive to the needs of patients. Good communication skills are a must! You will often be working under medical professionals and should have a clear understanding of their demands.
